Teaching

James is currently the Band Director at Alexander Hamilton High School in Elmsford, NY. He directs the Concert Band and serves as the Musical Director for the spring musicals.

James also teaches General Music and Music Technology classes, where students learn about music production, composition, and aesthetic literacy through hands-on projects and studio sessions.

Previously, James taught at Beacon High School in Beacon NY, Haviland Middle School in Hyde Park NY, and Rockland Country Day School in Congers, NY. He served as the PreK-3rd Grade General Music Teacher and Songwriting Instructor for grades 7-12. He also developed a Music Technology curriculum for 5/6th Grade and began a Chorus program at the school.
